White Co. opens first fiber optic switching station
Things were popping in White County Tuesday as many private and public participants involved in the North Georgia Network, a non-profit organization seeking to improve economic development and education in north Georgia, officially open the first switching station for a high speed fiber optic network.

MCNC, a nonprofit that operates communications networks that connect North Carolina universities and other anchor institutions, has been named a “Champion of Change” by the White House.

 

Former North Kansas City Network Director Now Helps with Google Work

Atlantic Engineering Group of Braselton, Ga., is handling electrical work for Google Inc. in Kansas City, Kan., this week as it builds the framework for its ultra-fast Internet network, a Board of Public Utilities spokesman said Tuesday.
