Corning invented the world’s first low-loss optical fiber in 1970. Since that milestone, we have continued to pioneer optical fiber, cable and connectivity solutions.

As global bandwidth demand driven by video usage grows exponentially, networks continue to migrate from copper to optical-based systems that can deliver the required cost-effective bandwidth-carrying capacity. Our unrivaled experience puts us in a unique position to design and deliver optical solutions that reach every edge of the communications network.

Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.

This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

EntryPoint Network’s technology suite marks a shift in broadband networks because it brings cloud capabilities to the subscriber edge and creates real separation between the broadband infrastructure and the services running over that infrastructure. The EntryPoint suite provides an open platform for service creation and access to services by merging the concepts of SDN, NFV, Network Automation, Open Access, and Network Virtualization. The system authorizes and authenticates users in this new open, cloud-like environment using a virtual SIM technology. The implications for Fiber to the Home, Internet of Things (IoT), and Smart Cities include; automated provisioning, dynamic delivery of VPLS networks, new flexibility and control, new openness and new power to network subscribers, network operators, and network service providers.

EntryPoint has partnered with Virtual Gateway Labs, to develop the world's first Virtual Broadband Gateway. The Virtual Broadband Gateway replaces existing ONT(s) and consists of a single hardware device with multiple logical routers and switches (rather than having multiple physical routers and switches) to move control of the network from the core to the network edge. This enables multi-tenancy for service providers, creates a demarcation point between the network provider, the subscriber(s), and the service provider(s), and enables self-provisioning for the network stakeholders. The Virtual Broadband Gateway supports: virtual-machine based OS; Openflow; Rest API interfaces; and Intel® DPDK.

Rural Telecommunications Congress (RTC)

The Rural Telecommunications Congress (RTC) is a national membership organization dedicated  to assuring that rural areas in the United States have access to the information and support they need to  obtain and use advanced telecommunications services and technology for social and  economic development.

Rural communities often lag far behind cities in deploying new technologies to ensure we do not create “digital dustbowls.” The Rural Telecommunications Congress serves as rural America’s “party line” for today’s information age in the same way the telephone party line was used in the 20th century to share news and information within a community.  It is a new way to link telecommunications-oriented communities of interest with industry and with rural community leaders and innovators.  It’s an opportunity to celebrate and share successes, identify barriers to success and create a nationally recognized common voice to overcome them.

It is the only trencher that discharges the trenched material direct onto our automatic tarp dispenser for easy clean-up. It can also discharge the trenched material on either side of the machine. Our patented floating cutting blade is designed to cut up and over underground obstructions like rocks and large tree roots, which saves on high trencher blade maintenance costs. The "Micro-Trencher" can cut a 1" wide trench and the depth is adjustable from 0" to 12" deep depending on the model chosen. The specially designed trencher teeth are made of replaceable carbide bits and in rocky areas you can specify "Shark Teeth". The patented front cutting wheel can cut a radius of 9 inches. The unit is only 26 inches wide so it can install cabling in very tight areas without compacting soils or damaging lawns and planting beds. Watch for our new "Asphalt Trencher" for cutting thru asphalt surfaces.
