Gigabit Broadband Enables North Georgia’s “Live Rural, Work Global” Economy

NGN’s fiber optic network supports EMCs, municipalities, carriers and communities with industry-leading gigabit broadband. We empower customers to “Live Rural. Work Global,” with tools and connectivity for better training, teaching and healthcare, and opportunities for businesses and residents to be more efficient and connected.

Since our inception in 2007, when counties and core anchor institutions in North Georgia first teamed up to boost the region’s economic development through high-speed infrastructure, our goal has been to help rural communities access Internet speeds that rival the fastest in the world and then leverage this asset to their benefit.

Broadband that delivers speeds measured in gigabits, not megabits, is a truly future-proof economic catalyst that answers speed requirements for technologies that have yet to be invented.

Georgia is the #1 state for film and a leader in new business, yet our rural areas are seeing decline, with lack of broadband cited as a key contributing factor. NGN works with community leaders and government officials at the federal, state and local level to help address the critical infrastructure needed to support students, telehealth and economic development.

As part of NGN’s Gigabit Communities Initiative and in partnership with the Fiber Networks Owners Alliance (FNA), we welcome the Broadband Communities Economic Development Conference to Georgia and look forward to hearing from experts from around the country as they discuss how to make better broadband a reality for rural America.
