BOLT Fiber Optic Services
Sheila Allgood is the Manager of BOLT Fiber Optic Services, a division of Northeast Rural Services (NRS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative. She has 16 years of experience in the utility industry. Under her leadership, BOLT received a Rural Utility Service broadband loan to construct a 3,200 mile FTTH network, passing 32,000 rural homes and 1,200 underserved businesses. More recently, BOLT has been provisionally awarded support from the FCC Rural Broadband Experiment. Bolt is launching triple play services including IPTV, Gigabit Internet Service and VoIP. Over the past 14 years, Sheila has managed RECtec, another division of NRS that offers ultra-high speed Internet along 300 miles of final mile fiber. RECtec also manages, consults and engineers data networking solutions including Wi-Fi LAN, server integration, and network maintenance to rural anchor institutions. RECtec is an authorized Motorola and Kenwood two-way radio dealer specializing in providing reliable two-way communications to rural public safety and emergency service entities. Sheila studied Computer Science at Northeast Oklahoma A&M College and graduated from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Management Internship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
