Abhay Ambati, currently working as senior VP of Technology Services at Logical Buildings has over a decade of experience working on 300+ high and mid-rise apartment buildings, commercial and institutional properties totalling over 50 MW of responsive load in the United States, will share his experiences and practical lessons learnt over a presentation.

His primary responsibility at Logical Buildings is to leverage building design, existing building infrastructure, construction process, and building staff requirements to design, manage, and implement a smart, scalable, connected building. Consequently, he closely works with product and service vendors globally to help develop additional value streams for his client’s existing buildings as well as new construction. He works with local utilities to design and implement Smart Meters and data acquisition systems. He also views his buildings as potential Distributed Energy Resources and assesses opportunities for IT connectivity, battery energy storage, smart lights, solar photovoltaics, wind and similar technologies.

He is an Architect by training, with degrees in Architecture and Real Estate Development from Indian Institute of Technology, and New York University respectively. He is skilled in building energy performance analysis, smart metering, Arduino and Raspberry Pi, building energy auditing, Wi-Fi, project management, and pre-development smart building design services. He is a PMP, CEA, MFBA, CWNA, CWTS and LEED GA.

He regularly participates in discussions with PJM Interconnection, NY-ISO, NYSERDA, USGBC, AEE, BPI, Advanced Energy Group, NY-BEST, ULI, CWNP, and various electric and gas utilities nationwide. He has presented extensive seminars on Smart Building Design, Smart Building Technologies, and PropTech to students and academia.

Abhay also draws cartoons, is a graphic designer, and loves travelling to different lands and interact with their people and culture.
