Ed Balcerzak is Senior Vice President, Connected Communities for the AT&T Mobility and Entertainment organization. In this role, Ed is responsible for AT&T’s national initiatives to serve multi-dwelling units (MDU’s) with data, video and voice services. Ed was appointed to this role effective April 1, 2016. Previously Ed served as SVP, Business and Call Center Operations for the AT&T Entertainment Group (EG).
Ed’s career started at Eastman Kodak Company, he spent 10 years there in various roles, including financial accounting supervisor and regional controller for the Latin America region. He joined the DIRECTV Latin America (DTVLA) start-up team in 1995, where he served as corporate controller, setting up all finance and accounting operations. He later became the general manager of DIRECTV Mexico during a time of turnaround and post-acquisition restructure and spent almost 3 years living in Mexico. Prior to the AT&T/DTV merger, Ed was SVP of Customer Care and oversaw all customer service operations, including all in-house and outsourced call centers. He also held the position of SVP Finance for the DIRECTV operations organization.
Ed holds an MBA from the University of Rochester and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Niagara University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant (inactive). He is also served previously as chairman for the American Heart Association in Denver, was a board member of the Junior Achievement and was chairperson for the Finance Council of Our Lady of Loreto Catholic church.
Ed has an apartment in Dallas but his family resides in Denver. Ed and his wife, Michele, have 6 children and 5 grandchildren.
