Alan Fitzpatrick is a technology entrepreneur and a strong advocate of broadband infrastructure. He co-founded the not-for-profit organization Charlotte Hearts Gigabit, helping attract Google Fiber to Charlotte, NC. He later co-founded the state wide effort: NC Hearts Gigabit.
As an entrepreneur, Alan founded and successfully exited two software companies. He is currently running his third startup, Open Broadband, an ISP providing broadband service to underserved communities. His corporate experience includes roles as COO of DC74 Data Centers, COO of VoIP Services at ACN Inc., and SVP of Engineering for US LEC Corp.
In his spare time, Alan enjoys teaching entrepreneurship and technology courses as an Adjunct Professor for Central Michigan University and Johnson and Wales University.
Alan has an MBA from Vanderbilt University and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University.
