Bruce Forey, APR, is communications manager with GVTC, a full service communications provider, located in Smithson Valley, serving areas of North San Antonio, the Texas Hill Country and Gonzales. GVTC is a multiple recipient of Broadband Communities Magazine’s, Top FTTH 100 award.

Forey was recruited in 2007 to establish GVTC’s first communications department. He manages the strategic planning and implementation for internal & external communication, media relations, issues management, executive support and social media. He also leads communication and marketing for The GVTC Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm.

Forey has helped GVTC earn significant media coverage and awareness for several landmark initiatives. He managed coverage of the GVTC/NFL Network launch, which was first in San Antonio. The public relations plan included an appearance from Dallas Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones, at GVTC. He also directed communication messaging and media coverage for the company’s five-year, $35 million dollar fiber overbuild project, the announcement of the GVTC GigaRegion® and launch of GVTC’s 1 gigabit Internet speed availability; the first in South Texas.

The GVTC GigaRegion® is a unique partnership among GVTC and the cities of Boerne, Bulverde and Gonzales. The purpose is to promote 1 gigabit availability in the area to help compete with larger cities, such as San Antonio and Austin, for economic development and to enhance quality of life. Forey works directly with GVTC executives and partner representatives to develop effective messages to generate media and community attention, in support of GigaRegion® goals.

With six years of volunteer service, Forey is the longest standing member on The GVTC Foundation board of directors.

Forey holds an Accreditation in Public Relations and has more than a decade experience in the broadcast news industry, as an anchor and reporter.

Forey is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with a B.S. in Radio-TV-Film and concentration in broadcast journalism.
