Alex Menendez is co-founder of, a San Francisco ISP servicing over 10,000 properties across Northern California’s Bay Area with low cost, high speed Internet since 1996. Alex and his team provide a unique no contract, uncapped, net-neutral and multi-technology solution that allows for high network growth regardless of the age of building or the socio-economic make up of a property’s occupants.

Alex Menendez and Monkeybrains have been featured in several publications including: Popular Mechanics, San Francisco Chronicle, Buzz Feed and Information Week regarding broadband innovation and net-neutrality. He has advised and presented on behalf of City and County of San Francisco on digital equality and community broadband strategy for the last 10 years.

Before founding Monkeybrains, Alex worked at Macromedia, Inc. (Acquired by Adobe Systems), Silicon Graphics, Inc. and ARCO in network administration and server cluster management. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley, an amateur builder/developer and a long time resident of Northern California.
