Monét Muñoz received her B.A. in History from the University of Texas at El Paso and her M.A. in Latin American History with a focus on the Cold War in Central America from the University of Texas at El Paso. After completion of her M.A., Muñoz went on to do two years of post-graduate work at the University of Maryland College Park focusing on masculinity, gender identity, and human rights in Cold War and post-Cold War Guatemala. Currently, she is the GenYW Program Director and has been in this role for over three years. Prior to taking over the role as director, Muñoz was a Youth Specialist where she worked with at risk youth at AISD middle schools in the agency’s prevention education program. As the Program Director of GenYW, she is responsible for all aspects of the current contract including reporting and budgets. Muñoz is currently a Certified Prevention Specialist as per the Texas Certification Board of Addiction Professionals. In addition, Muñoz serves as secretary and active member of the Travis County Youth Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition.
