Mr. Rey Ramsey is an entrepreneur, executive, producer, author and activist. He currently serves as President of Opterna, a US based opto-electronic global product company and leading provider in the rapidly expanding multi-billion dollar communications industry. Until May 2013, Ramsey served as President and CEO of TechNet, a bipartsan network of execuDves at leading US e-commerce, cleantech, biotech, venture capital and investment banking CEO's and senior executives representing two million employees and $800 billion in revenues. Prior to TechNet, Ramsey served as founder, Chairman and CEO of One Economy Corporation, a nonprofit organizaDon providing internet to the homes of low-income individuals. He also served as Chairman of Habitat for Humanity International and as Senior Vice President at Enterprise Community Partners, a real estate investment services company providing development capital via equity and debt products for affordable housing and community development. Ramsey has been at the forefront of creating public purpose media, most notably through the founding of the Public Internet Channel (www.pic.tv) Together with director Robert Townsend, Mr. Ramsey co-produced the miniseries “Diary of a Single Mom” and “Los Americans” for pic.tv, as well as the feature film, “The Hive”. He is the co-author of the book ManagingNonprofits.org: Dynamic Management for the Digital Age. Ramsey serves on several boards, including American Rivers and the Advisory Board of the Brookings Institution Center on Urban and Metropolitan Policy. Mr. Ramsey serves on many boards, including the Schnitzer Investment Corporation, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and the Washington Jesuit Academy. Upon graduating from UVA law school, Ramsey joined Oregon’s largest law firm, Stoel, Rives, Boley. He holds a BA from Rutgers University.
