AT&T

Tom Sauer is Vice President, U-verse Video Business and Original Content Development for AT&T. In this role, he is responsible for advancing AT&T’s media and entertainment initiatives and overseeing key alliances, original content development and third- party video partner programs.

Prior to this role, Tom was Vice President, Corporate Strategy for AT&T. He was responsible for driving strategic initiatives to broaden and unify AT&T’s advertising strategy across local search, TV, and mobile businesses, as well as advancing AT&T’s entertainment services across TV, PC and mobile devices.

Tom has strategic market development expertise in consumer-based video service delivery, advertising, satellite and content delivery networks and in IP-based video networks.  His strong technical background matched with business development/operation expertise allows him to provide balanced objectives in strategic market and business development activities.

Before joining AT&T, Tom was the Head of Business Development for Thomson/Technicolor Electronic Distribution Service’s business unit. He also held previous positions at SkyStream Networks as Director of Business Development, where he drove and oversaw efforts in the area of strategic partnerships and new market development for IPTV video headend systems and a push-based content delivery platform; and at RealNetworks, heading market development activities in a group chartered by the CEO to define the transformation of RealNetworks’ narrowband audio business into a leading broadband streaming media delivery company.

Tom gained his business and operational expertise by co-founding and running a high-tech company, Khoral Research Inc., specializing in scientific software and consulting services to government agencies and fortune 500 companies.
Tom has a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on advanced networks, image and video processing from The University of New Mexico.
