Tim Scott

Vice President
Axia NGNetworks USA

Tim has spent most of his career in the IP networking industry having enjoyed many years with Cisco Systems across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. With Cisco, Tim led various regional teams across the Emerging Markets and specialized predominately in the adoption of new technologies across the region.

Tim's passion for IP based technologies and community broadband solutions brought him to the US, where he became Vice President and led for five years PacketFront's Business Development activities across community, regional, and alternative carrier broadband markets. Tim has led detailed engagements and deployments ranging from local government, not for profit regional entities, utilities, cities, and competitive carriers on their goals and objectives of offering improved broadband services.

Tim currently leads Axia's US business interests and activities and seeks to further develop global adoption of Axia's non conflicted, open access, Next Generation Networks (NGN) approach. Axia's US focus involves the development of "middle mile" and "last mile" infrastructure solutions with State or local government participation.

Axia NGNetworks USA has been closely engaged with the Massachusetts Broadband Institute (MBI) for two years now and Axia was selected to be the long term, wholesale only, network operator for the new network infrastructure being built across western and north central Massachusetts. This new network pning over 1,300 miles and connecting over 1,000 community anchor institutions (CAIs) is now known as the AxiaMassbroadband123 network. As well as long term operations of the AxiaMassbroadband123 open access network, Axia will invest its own capital to strategically extend the network beyond the NTIA approved sites over the many years ahead.

Axia's current experience includes operations of the 6,000 mile plus, government facilitated open access network in Alberta, Canada (Alberta SuperNet), Axia's 18 regional open access NGNs across France (Covage), and our current engagement with the world's largest FTTP roll out in Singapore (OpenNet).

Tim resides in Colorado but hails from Ireland where he graduated from the University of Ulster with an Honors degree in Business Studies.
