Brian Shih is a Senior Network Consultant for EducationSuperHighway, a nonprofit organization working to upgrade the Internet access in every public school in America so that all students can take advantage of the promise of digital learning. EducationSuperHighway is focused on accelerating network upgrades by inspiring state action and laying the groundwork to connect every school to fiber, extending Wi-Fi to every classroom, and increasing the affordability of broadband.
Over the last 3 years, Brian has helped modernize the FCC's E-rate program to prioritize fiber optics as the preferred technology in school networks and has been actively educating network operators, fiber construction firms, and school district leadership on how to leverage E-rate to bring high-speed, scalable broadband to the community.
Brian has over 15 years experience in the field of Network Engineering and designing infrastructure solutions in various parts of the world, now with a focus on America's rural underserved communities. Brian holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and Management Systems from Columbia University.
