After many years working on Wall Street in New York City and in finance around the globe, Gerry Lawlor moved to a remote island community in Washington State in 2011. He learned the hard way that surviving with terrible connectivity wasn’t an option. So in 2014, he decided to fix his issues, which resulted in developing and running a very unique broadband business serving the San Juan Islands. This led next to starting and running T-Mobile’s national fixed Broadband business in early 2018. He now runs Open5G, a very innovative startup that is assisting communities with their broadband deployment needs.
