Peggy Schaffer has been the executive director of the ConnectME Authority, Maine’s program to expand broadband to unserved areas of the state, for the past three years. Prior to joining ConnectME, she was the small business advocate in the secretary of state's office and served as the co-chair for the Maine Broadband Coalition, a statewide advocacy organization that is focused on expanding high-speed broadband. Schaffer has also served as the chief of staff in the senate majority office and in the senate president's office and has worked as the lobbyist for the department of economic and community development, where she helped develop and implemented many of the state’s key economic initiatives under Governors Angus King and John Baldacci. She holds a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Maine at Augusta and an MBA from Thomas College. Schaffer lives in Vassalboro, Maine.
