Julia Emrick is the vice president of operations and business development at Harrison Edwards PR + Marketing based in Armonk, N.Y. This leading marketing and PR agency for community broadband deployment in the United States represents municipal and regional governments, internet service providers, utilities, and engineering and construction companies, including the top three open access providers in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to joining Harrison Edwards in 2021, Emrick spent 15 years at a large business advocacy and economic development organization in Westchester County, N.Y., where she spearheaded major initiatives in real estate and development, broadband and connectivity, in addition to overseeing the organization’s strategic plan and board development. Emrick also currently serves as the project director for Project OVERCOME, a US Ignite/National Science Foundation-funded grant in Yonkers, N.Y., helping to close the digital divide by creating an innovative digital opportunity providing free Internet access to approximately 250 households using spectrum in the Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) frequency band, along with 15 hours of digital skills training and a free Chromebook. Emrick graduated from New York University with a bachelor’s in hospitality management with an emphasis on event management.
