Bob Knight is both a broadband industry professional and a public official. He is the managing partner at Harrison Edwards PR + Marketing in Armonk, N.Y. This leading marketing and PR agency for community broadband deployment in the United States represents municipal and regional governments, internet service providers, utilities, engineering and construction companies, including the top three open access providers in the U.S. and abroad. Knight was one of a dozen broadband industry professionals invited to meet with the White House on how best to deploy broadband networks using federal ARPA and infrastructure dollars.
In the public sector, Knight is serving his seventh term as a commissioner of economic and community development, town of Ridgefield, Conn., and sits on the business and jobs subcommittee of the State of Connecticut Region 5 Long-Term Recovery Committee.
He currently serves as co-chair for the Public Officials Committee of the Fiber Broadband Association in Washington, representing over 150 cities, towns, counties and state agencies; is a founder of the National Fiber Coalition, and is a 2022 Chairman of the Broadband Communities Summit. He also sits on the Connecticut Committee of the Regional Plan Association of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
Earlier in his career, Knight was a top-rated radio air personality and programmer. Notably, in 2000, he replaced Ryan Seacrest at K101 in San Francisco, then served as director of operations and programming for NextMedia Chicago, where he co-hosted “The Morning Beat with Jeff and Bobby.” Knight lives in Ridgefield, Conn., with his wife and two children.
