Kelly Weissmann has over 33 years of experience in the industry. She spent the first 25 years of her career at her local telephone company, Cincinnati Bell (now known as altafiber), starting in the office of the repair bureau, testing and dispatching. She quickly moved to the operations department, becoming a splicer. She worked on a customer ticket from the central office, doing everything from rewiring party line phones to climbing poles, working in manholes and working on the kitchen phone.

After several years working in the field, she was promoted to management. Her varied talents brought her to becoming the sole OSP trainer where she spent many years instructing all technicians who were involved in the outside plant operations on everything from pole climbing and ladder safety to where copper, fiber and premise coax were entailed in construction, installation, troubleshooting and repair. In addition to training technicians, Weissmann has 17 years with the FOA (Fiber Optic Association) as a Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT), and is a Certified Fiber Optic Instructor (CFOS/I), leading Clearfield in providing education and certification through the FOA.

She joined Clearfield in 2013 and continues to educate the industry on fiber optics and Clearfield products, leading the training program at the company, which specializes in fiber connectivity with an emphasis on fiber management.
