Warren Woodward is the director of broadband service at XMission LC, the first Salt Lake City-based internet service provider. Established in 1993, XMission is well-known as the largest service provider on the UTOPIA Fiber network, a municipal project that spans 19 cities in Utah.
For more than two decades, Woodward has guided XMission business and residential high speed Internet services over dialup, ISDN, DSL, and now both public and private fiber. He has been an advocate for open-access municipal networks for 20 years and spearheaded XMission’s involvement in the UTOPIA Fiber project since its inception in 2005. His experience includes ownership of XMission’s internet access product development and design, partnerships, interconnection negotiations, service metrics, customer support and governmental relations. He also built and manages XMission’s residential and business VoIP branch.
Woodward earned his B.S. in IT business management from Western Governor’s University and studied American Llterature at the University of Utah. He is currently managing XMission’s service expansion into neighbor states via open-access networks.
