Terry Huval, a Louisiana native, has worked in the utilities industry, namely electric and telecommunications, for more than 45 years. He has served in leadership roles in both the private and public sectors of utilities.

A licensed professional engineer in Louisiana and Texas, Huval is a past chair of the American Public Power Association and has served as the chairman of the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Surveying Board, along with many other professional activities in his professional and civic career.

Huval’s work is especially notable in the telecommunications arena, where he successfully led the vision and implementation of the LUS Fiber system in his community. This system was the first municipally owned company to provide fiber-to-the-home services in the state of Louisiana, as well as one of the first municipally owned FTTH companies in the U.S.
