Julie Keel is responsible for establishing the short-term objectives and long-term strategic vision for Camden’s marketing efforts. She oversees the creation, implementation, and execution of the deliverables for all branding, creative, advertising, social media, web/internet, communications, crisis communications, public relations, and philanthropic efforts.
Keel started her career in marketing on the advertising agency side in Charlotte, N.C., managing clients ranging from Crescent Resources and Laura Ashley to multiple home builders and insurance agencies. She left the agency world to lead marketing at Summit Properties in 2003. During the Summit/Camden merger, Keel accepted Camden’s marketing manager position and relocated to Houston. She has been an integral part of Camden’s marketing team, leading the social media strategy and branding while also establishing herself as the driving force behind Camden Cares.
Keel works collaboratively across the company, leveraging data-driven insights to develop creative sales and marketing programs that increase sales, value, and differentiation throughout Camden’s markets. With more than 20 years of experience in marketing, sales, operations, design, and development, she brings expertise not only in multifamily but also in the advertising industry.
A southerner by birth, Keel earned her B.A. in communications and public relations from the University of Tennessee.
