Josh Lunsford, assistant vice president of multi-family and new build strategy for Cox Communities, is responsible for overseeing the company’s corporate multi-family and new build residential strategies across the enterprise. In addition to overseeing sales, growth and innovation strategies throughout the 18 states of operation, he also works closely with the field sales, operations, marketing, field ops, product and technology teams to ensure greater alignment between product offerings and speed-to-market to enhance the B2B and B2C customer experience.
Lunsford has more than 25 years of sales and technology experience in both the consumer and business sectors, 22 of which have been with Cox. He started his career at Cox in commercial sales serving the SMB, healthcare, hotel/motel, higher education, senior living and multi-family segments working his way into sales and sales operations leadership primarily focused on the multi-family industry. During his time in field sales, he was a pioneer, creating and selling the first managed Wi-Fi solution for Cox in the multi-family space. Prior to shifting his focus to corporate strategy, he led Cox’s Central Region multi-family sales team across five states with responsibilities, including digital transformation, for some of Cox’s largest multi-family portfolios.
For the last five years, he has been leading corporate strategy, guiding the expansion of Cox’s new build program, enhancing managed services and the development of emerging technologies like move-in ready internet and property automation services.
Lunsford holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business and marketing from the University of Arkansas. He has served on numerous boards including the NWA Apartment Association, Boy Scouts of America and the Cancer Challenge. He is an avid outdoorsmen and spends as much time as possible on the family farm with his wife, son and daughter where they raise cattle and horses.
