Michael Prather is the chief technology officer of Totelcom Communications, LLC, a rural broadband and telecommunications company headquartered in De Leon, Texas. Proudly operating as a community-based provider and family-owned company, Totelcom continually upgrades technology to provide its customers with the latest in communications services. In addition to network improvements and offering communication services to De Leon and the surrounding communities, Totelcom believes in local involvement and is quick to support events, fundraisers, projects, and other needs within the community.
Prather holds a B.S. in technology management from Texas A&M University. Prior to joining Totelcom in 2012, he worked as the enterprise support team lead at ENMR Plateau, a rural telecommunications cooperative and wireless provider in Clovis, N.M.
In addition to his role at Totelcom, he serves as a board member of The Lone Star Network and as a board member and programs chair of the Foundation for Rural Service. He also serves on the Erath County United Way board of director and on the Stephenville Lions Club board of directors, where he oversees the Kid’s Sight program, providing free vision screening to school age children in the area. He has a passion for the advancement, development and implementation of internet services in rural America and the benefits it brings to those communities.
