Bruce Sheldon, business development manager at Colliers Engineering & Design, has more than 37 years in the telecommunications industry, including 32 spent operating and managing fiber and coax construction for Time Warner Cable/Charter. At TWC/Charter he was involved with many upgrades and fiber activities, helped construct fiber systems to be ready for broadband deployment, and connected much of the vertical across eastern North Carolina for backhaul. He has engineered, designed, and permitted railroads, highways, local community roads, river crossings and government installations and has been involved in most of the eastern North Carolina STIP projects impacting his facilities over the past two decades. Sheldon was instrumental in starting many of the local Utility Coordination Committees across eastern North Carolina and has served on the state’s UCC in many roles, including chairman. He also sat on the NC Work Zone Traffic Control committee, helping establish many of the policies and procedures for working in the state’s right of way, is active with SC811 and VA811, and sat on the board of directors for NC811.
