Dwight Thomas, Jr. is the Broadband Networks Engineer for the City of Mont Belvieu. Over the past 20+ years, Dwight has accumulated extensive experience planning, engineering, constructing and operating mission-critical networks for various industries such as Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Government, and Telecommunications. Prior to joining the City of Mont Belvieu, Dwight served as a Lead Consultant for a systems integrator in Irvine, CA, where he leads a regional team of consultants and engineered solutions for one of the largest hard disk drive manufacturers in the world.
Dwight has a degree in Computer Information Systems from Lamar University and holds many recognized industry certifications such as Certified Fiber-to-the-Home Professional, Cisco Certified Network Professional - Service Provider, Calix GPON Specialist, and Certified Telecommunications Subject Matter Expert. Dwight currently serves as a CompTIA Network+ Subject Matter Expert (SME) and is a member of the CompTIA SME Technical Advisory Committee (CSTAC), CompTIA Infrastructure Certifications Advisory Committee (CAC), and the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE).
