Jason Grey

Jason joined the City’s broadband initiative in 2004 and is currently the Director of Utilities for the City of Danville, Virginia. He oversees the day-to-day operations of five utilities including the City’s open access fiber network called nDanville. Danville’s challenges over the past twenty years have been redeveloping a local economy from traditional textiles and tobacco to a more diverse group of industries. Some of these industries include precision machining companies, manufacturing, and technology based businesses. The nDanville fiber optic network has assisted the economic development of the community to be able to recruit new jobs to the area. The broadband network is currently financially self-sufficient and working to expand residential services to all Danville residents. Jason has a history of working in the technology field having previously worked in the privates sector before coming to the City of Danville, Virginia.
