Nathan Watkins

City Manager

Nathan is currently the City Manager for the City of Mont Belvieu and has served the community for 8 years.  Prior to working for the City, Nathan served in the United States Navy for 6 years as a member of Naval Special Warfare and as a crewmember of the USS Enterprise deploying to Iraq and the Persian Gulf.

Nathan’s primary focus as City Manager is implementing value-creating strategies during unprecedented growth. Nathan attended the University of Houston where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s in Public Administration.  Post-graduation Nathan continued his education completing an in resident program at Harvard University and obtained a certificate from the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma.

Nathan is an avid hiker and adventure traveler who recently completed a trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp, spent time on Mount Rainier and the highest mountain summits in Texas. He also enjoys all things family with his wife of 15 years Jessica and their two young Barbers Hill Eagles Hadley and Harlow.
