Alaska Communications Introduces Faster Internet Speeds

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - Businesses and consumers looking for faster Internet speeds have new options, according to Alaska Communications. Speeds of up to 1 Gigabit are available to businesses in Anchorage because of fiber optic improvements the company has been making. Consumers in certain areas will also soon be able to get speeds up to 50 Mbps.

"For the past 18 months we've been investing in a very large fiber optic network project to bring faster connectivity to our customers. These new speeds are a result of that work," explained Anand Vadapalli, Alaska Communications president and CEO. "Alaskans are asking for both faster data and higher reliability without having to pay overage charges, and we've responded with this large investment."

The faster, more reliable broadband service allows businesses and consumers to access what they need, when they need it. Alaska Communications charges a flat monthly rate for unlimited data, with no overage charges; installation fees may apply.
