ST. LOUIS — Arch Fiber Networks announced the lighting of Washington Avenue’s first residential fiber Internet services last week. Residents of the Dorsa Lofts are now able to sign up for gigabit Internet speeds through infrastructure provided by Arch Fiber Networks and Internet service provided by Elite Systems.

“This represents a huge step for not only Arch Fiber, but also this city,” said Owen Graham, business development manager at Arch Fiber Networks. “Together with Elite Systems, this is a homegrown effort to bring the fastest Internet speeds available to St. Louis in order to keep the city competitive for entrepreneurs, young professionals and anyone who cares about state-of-the-art infrastructure.”

Elite Systems LLC is a St. Louis-based Internet service provider committed to utilizing the city’s fiber Infrastructure to provide the fastest Internet speeds available. They will begin offering gigabit residential plans at a cost of $70 per month, and gigabit small business plans at $100 per month.

Using fiber layouts in other cities as a blueprint, Arch Fiber will now continue to gauge the demand among residents and small businesses along Washington Avenue and in the surrounding downtown area. As demand increases, more buildings, residences and small business will be able to access Internet speeds of 1,000 Mbps, on par with those of other fiber providers throughout the country.
