AT&T Fiber Announces Fiber Network Expansion in Greensboro Area

GREENSBORO, NC — AT&T Fiber is now offering a 1 gigabit connection on its 100 percent fiber network powered by AT&T FiberSM to customer locations in additional cities in the Greensboro area, including in parts of Burlington and other parts of Alamance County.

The company's fastest Internet speed, AT&T Internet 1000, is now available in multifamily properties across North Carolina like Watercourse Apartments and master planned communities like Laurelton Village. AT&T first launched its ultra-fast Internet speeds in parts of Greensboro and surrounding communities in mid-2015. They plan to expand access to ultra-fast Internet speeds in parts of High Point in the future.

The Greensboro area is one of 44 metros nationwide where AT&T offers ultra-fast Internet service and plans to reach at least 67 metros. AT&T FIber markets its ultra-fast service to over 3 million locations nationwide, of which over 500,000 include apartments and condo units.

“Our customers are increasingly interacting with their world in more data-intensive ways,” said Venessa Harrison, president, AT&T North Carolina. “A growing number of people are streaming content directly from their devices, and interacting with family and friends through live videos. For these reasons, we’re continuing to expand the availability of our fastest Internet speeds to more Greensboro area communities.”

Internet-only pricing for customers who choose the fastest speed tier, AT&T Internet 1000, starts as low as $70 a month. Customers may be able to add DIRECTV or U-verse TV services and can choose from single, double and triple play offers. Internet customers on the fiber network have access to the latest Wi-Fi technology with faster Wi-Fi speeds and broad coverage to seamlessly connect all their devices.
