AT&T Launches GigaPower in Premier SkyHouse Properties

DALLAS — AT&T now offers GigaPower network to more than 2,500 SkyHouse apartment units. Locations are spread out across eight properties located in the Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Charlotte, Orlando and Raleigh-Durham metro areas.

AT&T and Novare Group, a commercial real estate development company, reached agreements to deliver AT&T GigaPower to additional SkyHouse residents. AT&T plans to provide ultra-fast Internet service over the AT&T GigaPower network to nearly 1,800 more SkyHouse apartments across five properties located in the Atlanta, Dallas, Charlotte, Houston and Nashville metro areas.

“We want to bring ultra-fast Internet speeds and access to content in real-time to more of our customers,” said Peter Feeney, AT&T vice president of MDU and Connected Community Sales. “We’re working with property owners, management groups, homeowner associations and developers to expand the availability of high-speed Internet over our AT&T GigaPower network. This will make properties more attractive — Internet speeds up to 1 Gbps let residents quickly connect to the cloud, telecommute more easily, video chat in real-time and stream the latest entertainment.”

SkyHouse residents on the AT&T GigaPower network are eligible for AT&T U-verse TV service. They can watch and record up to six HD programs at the same time. Residents will also be able to record and store more of their favorite shows – up to 900 hours of SD or 330 hours of HD programming.

AT&T Connected Communities
The AT&T Connected Communities (ACC) team is working with property owners and managers interested in bringing AT&T GigaPower to their location. The ACC team plans and places a fiber-optic network in three steps to connect current and potential residents to their content:

  • Evaluation: Nominate your property for fiber consideration by visiting www.att.com/fiberproperties.

  • Design: AT&T engineers will develop a fiber overbuild design of the existing telecom network at the approval of the selected property’s stakeholders.

  • Deploy: Upon agreement, AT&T techs will carefully install the AT&T GigaPower network to minimize disruption to the property and residents.
