Beehive Broadband Brings Gigabit Fiber to the Avenues

SALT LAKE CITY, UT — Local Internet service provider Beehive Broadband announced that residents in the Avenues will soon have access to speeds up to 1 Gbps.

Beehive Broadband has been expanding its fiber network within Salt Lake City for the past seven years, focusing on providing enterprise-grade connections to businesses, with notable customers including the Miller Group, Impact Hub and Church & State. The Avenues will be the first residential neighborhood with access to the high-speed service, with speeds up to 100x faster than most wireless connections currently available in the area.

Aerial Fiber Deployment
“By utilizing aerial fiber deployment, we are able to limit the disturbances to residential properties and public easements often associated with fiber construction,” said Beehive Broadband President, Scott Wilson. “It is also a much more cost-effective method of deployment, allowing us to pass those savings on to our customers and offer a substantially lower installation cost.”

Two Data Packages
Two data packages will be available — 100 Mbps for $44.95 per month, or 1 Gbps for $69.95 per month. Additionally, the company owns and operates their own TV headend, and offers IPTV packages starting at $19.95 per month, and voice packages for $19.95 per month. “We may not have the following that a company like Google has,” said Wilson, “but we have the exact same technology, and have been offering the same speeds since 2009.”

Availability in the Avenues will be rolled out in phases, beginning with streets S through U, with installations beginning mid-December. Additional phases of the project will continue throughout 2016.
