Byers, CO — Deer Trail is the first of many Colorado towns in Arapahoe County that Bijou Telephone Co-Op will be servicing with their fiber-optic lines. Because optical fibers are thinner than copper wires, more fibers can be bundled into a given-diameter cable than copper wires. This allows more phone lines to go over the same cable or more channels to come through the cable into one’s cable television box, allowing for less signal degradation and more reliable signals and Internet speed.
Bijou Telephone Co-op’s General Manager, Brian Creveling, said, “This is a big step for our area. Our customers are already feeling the difference in their Internet speeds and reliability, across the board. We are focusing on Deer Trail for the launch and will continue to move out into other towns over the next year or so.”
Bijou Telephone Co-op offers telephone and high-speed Internet services covering the I-70 corridor from Watkins to Limon.
