Bolt Selects ETI for Greenfield Triple-Play Network

  • ETI Software Solutions
ATLANTA, GA – Bolt Fiber Optic Services, the Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative's FTTH subsidiary, has selected ETI Software Solutions’s Overture software product suite for fiber design and management, GIS monitoring of alarms, customer care, provisioning and end-to-end billing for voice (Metaswitch), IPTV (Mediaroom) and data (Alcatel-Lucent). In addition, ETI will provide an advanced Mediaroom applications set which includes remote DVR
management, On-Screen Caller ID, Visual Voicemail and much more.

Bolt will offer 1 Gigabit service beginning in fourth quarter of 2014 and be able to support services for the 30,000 cooperative members that reside in a mix of rural communities, tribal areas and a lake resort area by 2017. Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) was chosen as infrastructure supplier and system integrator in May, and will work closely with ETI to support OSS/BSS, fiber mapping and implementation of Ericsson’s Mediaroom IPTV platform.

Both ETI and ALU were selected by Bolt due to past success in the utility market. “We knew that for a project this size and scope that we had to have the gold standard in every area– and we are confident that we do,” said Sheila Allgood, manager of Bolt. “Our goal was to select knowledgeable and experienced companies with proven scalable solutions; the collaboration of ETI and ALU expertise is going to serve us well.”

Sharing Technology with Neighboring Underserved Communities
Another key reason for selecting ETI is that Bolt will be able to via Overture’s Shared Network Solution. “All of our subscriber data will be kept separate and secure, but we will be able to share technology with our neighbors to quickly and easily provide services to residents of underserved communities,” said Allgood.

“ETI is proud and excited to be part of such an important project,” said Frank Gine, President and COO of ETI Software. “More and more utilities are realizing that fiber-to-the-home service is the next frontier for this industry, and Bolt is leading the way.”
