DENVER, CO — BroadHop's new Quantum Network Suite, an advanced open policy management and control platform, helps providers bring new services to market quickly while also solving network congestion issues.
The suite incorporates a virtualized rules engine that enables service providers to control, monetize and personalize network and application services.
Dan Geiger, senior director of marketing for BroadHop, explains, "Service providers can differentiate themselves if they can guarantee a level of experience." Because of the granular level of control that the Quantum Network Suite allows, providers can offer subscribers the flexibility to turn off specific Internet applications during children's homework hours, or even stop the telephone from ringing during designated periods. Or they could allow subscribers to increase bandwidth on demand when they want to watch movies online.
Providers can also offer innovative business services, such as cloud-based productivity tools and e-mail management or videoconferencing, and easily tailor service bundles for small businesses. Geiger says, "You could make sure they get the applications that work for them and pay as they go, and make sure there are no licensing issues ... and manage these resources per individual or per contract. It would give the telecom provider a way of doing charging and control. ... It gives the telecom provider a chance to compete in a different fashion."
Features include
• A network-aware mobile data services engine that detects and adjusts for mobile core congestion in real time, maximizing session capacity and user quality of experience
• Support for management of network resources, two-way communication between service providers and subscribers and subscribers' self-personalization of policies
• Industry-standard tools and technologies to rapidly create new policy blueprints and enable dynamic linking of proprietary applications to the Quantum Network policy platform
• Support for massive scaling and resiliency independent of the hardware layer.
BroadHop’s architecture allows service providers to create new policies quickly, without the need to develop and integrate proprietary policy scripts tied to specific vendor solutions. Service providers can personalize services at an individual level, while reducing the time to create new services by a factor of more than 10. Subscribers can view their service and network status at a glance, and service providers can track and respond to subscriber quality of service.
Quantum Network Suite is now available for commercial deployment and technical trials with service providers.
