C Spire, INDATEL to Bolster Business Services in Underserved Areas

RIDGELAND, MS — C Spire has joined INDATEL Services, a national network of state and regional fiber providers, as part of its efforts to offer more businesses and enterprises, particularly those in rural and underserved areas, with reliable wholesale access to broadband connectivity via fiber optic network routes across the U.S.

INDATEL Services has members in 30 states with over 700 independent rural exchange providers servicing more than 300,000 buildings and over 1,100 points of presence, over 5,000 communities using six nationally aggregated points of presence over a network comprised of over 100,000 fiber optic route miles of middle and last-mile network.

C Spire is one of only two companies that have recently joined the organization who offer statewide services, according to INDATEL CEO Mel Wagner Jr. "With our expert teams, tools and network, we're excited about partnering with C Spire to provide Ethernet connectivity, content delivery and internet access to even more customers in rural areas," Wagner said.

National One-stop Shop
With a nationwide collaborative business model, Wagner said INDATEL can serve as a one-stop shop for quotes, orders, service delivery, network operations and billing for government, wireless and enterprise customers and act as a single national point of contact for carriers and system integrators.

"INDATEL and our members are uniquely positioned to provide telecommunications connectivity to many places where larger, national providers struggle to provide service," Wagner added. "Our members are ingrained in the communities they serve with trusted, long-established relationships and they are committed to their customers' success."

C Spire Business Unit Offers Services
The combined C Spire Business unit features a workforce of over 500 service professionals, over 8,600 route miles of fiber optic infrastructure with major locations in 12 cities and operations in three states — Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee — multiple data centers in several states and the ability to serve voice, IP/data, cloud and managed and professional services customers anywhere in the country.

"One of the things we're really excited about is that our C Spire Business services are not limited by our geography," Monistere said. "We can follow and work with our business customers wherever their needs are both today and into the future. Since we can support the products and services our customers need, we can manage the end-to-end solution from the device all the way to the cloud."

A series of moves by C Spire in recent years signal an accelerated and expanded focus on innovative voice, IP/data, IT and cloud solutions for businesses across its footprint and around the country. "Every customer is on their own unique journey to the cloud and we can meet them anywhere along that path," Monistere said. "Whether they want to put workloads or workflows into the public or private cloud, we can help them succeed."

C Spire Tech Movement Initiative
C Spire reinforced its commitment to innovation last fall by launching the C Spire Tech Movement initiative designed to leverage the company's technology leadership and investments to help transform its service areas. A key element is the massive expansion of ultra-fast broadband and fixed wireless internet access with the goal of reaching thousands more consumers and businesses.

Other elements include leading the development of a high-tech workforce in Mississippi through education initiatives and related efforts and expanding tech innovation and education in the areas of robotics, artificial intelligence and IOT.
