OAKLAND, CA Central Oklahoma Telephone Company, an independent local exchange company in Davenport, Okla., is building an FTTH network in Davenport to deliver residential and business triple-play services. The company started turning up network services in October.

The network uses GPON technology delivered over Zhone Technologies' MXK platform. "Zhone's MXK multiservice access platform and its RF-video capable zNID ONTs combined to deliver flawless RF video, voice and broadband data to our customers in Davenport," says Steve Guest, president of Central Oklahoma Telephone Company. "After in-depth review of various platforms, we chose Zhone's MXK platform for the increased density, scale and performance to address our network needs. Zhone's EZ Touch Provisioning system for FTTH greatly simplifies the installation of ONTs in our network. Zhone's ability to integrate with our new billing system promises smooth implementation of our network expansion plans."
