Schaumburg, IL--Charles Industries, a manufacturer of enclosed solutions, has opened its sixth manufacturing facility and second outside the United States in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico.

The new manufacturing facility is part of the Amphenol Optimize complex in Nogales, which has operated since 1984. Charles Industries’ new Nogales facility spans 83,000 square feet and features cutting-edge technology and equipment, including a well-trained workforce. Charles will be able to significantly increase production capacity and streamline its manufacturing processes with this new facility while improving customer lead times.

“We are excited to increase the capacity of our non-metallic enclosures to support customer demand better,” stated Dominic Imbrogno, Vice President of Operations for Charles Industries. “This facility has several new manufacturing capabilities and processes and this expansion in Nogales advances Charles’ position as the industry leader for innovative non-metallic enclosed solutions that protect network infrastructure.”

Charles Industries and its parent Amphenol Corporation have taken steps to minimize environmental impact. New equipment utilizes the latest in power-saving technology. Excess and plastic scraps from the process are recycled back into the manufacturing process, minimizing waste.

“The new facility marks a new milestone for Charles Industries and a crucial step towards becoming a stronger strategic partner to our key customers. Our long-term growth mindset should always be aligned with the needs and goals of our customers, while also keeping in mind our vision to be a global leader in protecting the connections that bring people together,” said Cristina Cristea, General Manager for Charles Industries. “At the end of the day, our success is not only measured by our performance, but also by the impact we make in the lives of our customers, our employees who make this possible, and our communities we serve.”

Charles hosted a grand opening ceremony to celebrate the new facility's opening. The ceremony is graced by Genaro Vecerra Alvarez, president of the Maquiladora Association, Laura Biedebach, U.S. consulate, Amphenol Optimize representatives, Amphenol RFOB sister company leadership and Chales employees on March 1, 2023. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was followed by factory tours, food and refreshments, social gathering, and the unveiling of an original mural painted by local artist Luis Manuel Parra Torres.
