DENVER, CO — The City of Chula Vista, CA has engaged Magellan Advisors, a broadband and smart city consulting firm, to assist in developing a Telecommunications Master Plan. Magellan’s West Coast team will work with Chula Vista’s leadership to develop a plan that focuses on implementation of smart city initiatives to support the City’s connectivity, responsiveness, transparency and innovation.
Leveraging Current Fiber Assets
Magellan’s team will work to build community engagement and education around smart city initiatives and the importance and role of broadband networks. The plan will identify strategic ways to leverage the City’s current fiber-optic assets and implement broadband friendly policies, allowing Chula Vista to create innovative platforms and streamline services through telecommunications infrastructure planning and use of smart city technologies.
Supporting Next-Generation Economic Development
The City of Chula Vista’s investments in telecommunications infrastructure and smart city technologies will play a pivotal role in the City’s future and determine how the City embraces the digital economy and next-generation economic development. The telecommunications master plan will position the City to remain competitive and will differentiate Chula Vista as a technology-savvy place to live, work, play, and learn.
