City of Vallejo, Calif., Engages Magellan Advisors for Broadband Planning

DENVER, CO — The city of Vallejo, Calif., has engaged Magellan Advisors, a provider of broadband planning and IT consulting services, to implement broadband strategies for the city in its effort to leverage its current infrastructure for the greatest benefits for the City and its citizenry. Vallejo will work with Magellan’s California based team of Senior Consultants who have planned and developed fiber-optic broadband networks in over 200 communities across the U.S. including Cities throughout California, and will bring real world experience in their work with the City of Vallejo.

Magellan will assist the city in managing its current broadband master plan, negotiating an evolving regulatory environment, and provide the city with actionable strategies and options for improved broadband speeds and services. The effort will include business model recommendations for expansion and operating broadband networks. The city of Vallejo’s current infrastructure provides opportunities for the city to position itself for strategic improvements in broadband through proper planning and implementation.
