DES MOINES, IA - Danville Mutual Telephone Company, a small cooperative telco in Iowa, has selected the Calix Unified Access portfolio for its active Ethernet FTTH buildout. For more than a decade, Calix has been serving the needs of communications service providers in Iowa - a state that has several hundred independent phone companies - and enabling the delivery of advanced broadband services to its residents and businesses.

Over the past decade, many small rural telcos in Iowa and elsewhere have moved from primarily ATM and copper-based networks built to deliver voice and basic data services to delivery of advanced IP and Ethernet broadband services, such as IPTV over fiber and VDSL2. “In Iowa, with the vast majority of our customers delivering broadband services over fiber, we look forward to continuing to support their vision as they roll out the next generation of advanced applications." said John Colvin, Calix senior vice president of North America sales and marketing.
