WARRENVILLE, IL – Emerson Network Power, a provider of smart infrastructure solutions, has introduced the NetXtend Compact family of cost efficient, multiuse enclosures.
The new enclosures may be used to house small power systems with smart meter reading, hybrid power controllers, fiber and much more, in a wide range of applications such as DAS, FTTx, cellular base stations, mobile backhaul and remote power solutions.
“These enclosures effectively push both wireless and wireline networks closer to the subscriber and provide easy integration into next generation networks such as smart meter applications,” said Jim Wiemer, director of product line management for Emerson Network Power’s Energy Systems business.
The NetXtend Compact family adds to Emerson Network Power’s portfolio of NetXtend solutions for the outside plant. Three compact models are available:
• NetXtend 2410 (24”H x 24”W x 10”D)
• NetXtend 2416 (24”H x 24”W x 16”D)
• NetXtend 3816 (38”H x 24”W x 16”D)
All feature aluminum construction, stainless steel hardware and are NEMA3R rated. NetXtend Compact cabinets include many features and options found on larger, more expensive cabinets, such as multi-point locking systems, padlock brackets, 120/240VAC input options, door intrusion alarms, a convenience outlet, UL listing and meet applicable sections of GR-487, I3. All may be wall, pole, stake or pad mounted. Each is available with either a plywood backboard or 19” equipment mounting rack, with the largest enclosure also capable of housing a vertical 23” rack.
DC power options are provided through +24V or -48V DIN rail-mounted modules or via the rack-mounted reliable and efficient -48V NetSure 211 DC Power System. A segregated battery backup chamber is available for either +24V or -48V battery strings. Convection cooling is standard. Optional fan cooling or heat exchanger packages are also available. This family of field upgradable enclosures was designed to evolve with the ever-changing critical network infrastructure.
