GARRISON, ND - When the cooperative
Reservation Telephone Company began building a fiber-to-the-home network in its North Dakota service territory, it expected to provide better service to its long-time members. However, the company soon found itself in the center of the nation's largest energy boom, with labor in short supply in spite of new workers flooding into the area. RTC was able not only to help the oil drillers start up their operations quickly but to help traditional businesses cope with labor shortages by operating more efficiently. In
this video by ViodiTV, a gas station manager in Garrison, N.D., explains what a direct fiber connection does for his business.
