Google Cast Adds Streaming Service to Fiber TV

MOUNTAIN View, CA — Google has announced that it will be adding Google Cast, a Chromcast-like technology, to its Fiber TV box. Google Cast will allow users to stream shows, movies, music and more, providing access to thousands of apps on the TV screen without changing inputs. At the click of a button, users can switch from HBO to Netflix to Pandora. They can scroll through pictures with friends using Google Photos.

Using Casting is a simple matter of connecting a compatible mobile device or laptop to Fiber Wi-Fi, and then tapping the Cast button from the apps to send what you’re viewing to your TV. And since Fiber TV comes with Google Cast technology built-in, no additional equipment or setup is needed.

Over the coming weeks, Google will start rolling out Google Cast on Fiber TV to all its TV subscribers.
