KANSAS CITY, KS — Having completed over 7,000 miles of construction, Google Fiber construction and installation crews are progressing rapidly in Kansas City. The company recently started installing service for new customers in and around the northern and southern parts of Kansas City and is now rolling out into the surrounding Johnson County area.
Residents in Westwood, Westwood Hills, Mission Woods and Roeland Park can now sign up for Google Fiber. To see whether a home is in one of these areas, residents can go to google.com/fiber and enter their address. If you’re eligible in this round of sign-ups, you’ll be able to select which Fiber package you want. Remember, you’ll only be able to sign-up for a limited time — from now until September 12th — so make sure you choose your plan sooner rather than later. This will help us to get installations started as quickly as possible.
Sign-up Period Reopens for Original Fiberhoods
Between now and August 7 Google Fiber is giving residents in its original group of qualified fiberhoods — in Kansas City, Kan. and Central Kansas City, Mo. — another chance to sign-up for service. Those residents can go to the Google Fiber website and select their fiber package.
To promote Google Fiber in the community, the Google Fiber team will be hosting several events in the coming weeks including a summer block party and happy hours. For a full list of community events visit Google Fiber Events.
