- The Gigabit Internet plan provides an Internet connection that’s up to 100 times faster than basic broadband for $70/month.
- The Gigabit Internet + TV plan provides access to hundreds of TV channels, a storage box that can record up to 8 shows at once and hold up to 500 hours of HD content, plus an ultrafast Internet connection, for $120/month.
- The Free Internet plan will give you basic broadband speeds (up to 5 Mbps download, 1 Mbps upload) for a one-time, $30 installation fee, then no monthly costs for at least seven years.
After customers choose a plan, GoogleFiber will bring a new fiber-optic cable directly into the home. Google will do fiber installation work in waves, starting with the North Park area next month and finishing in the Foothills area hopefully by the end of this year.
Customers can go to the GoogleFiber Provo website, enter their address and find out which of the following “fiberhoods” their home is in. Then, they can sign up for fiber before their area’s deadline. The company doesn't have current plans to re-open fiberhood sign ups, so customers must meet their deadline to get fiber, especially if they live in of one of our first three fiberhoods listed below.
North Park - Thursday, February 20
Downtown Provo - Thursday, March 6
Pioneer/West Provo - Thursday, March 27
Grandview - Spring 2014
North Provo - Summer 2014
Southeast Provo - Summer 2014
Foothills - Summer 2014
The Grandview, North Provo, Southeast Provo or the Foothills fiberhoods are scheduled for fiber later this spring and summer. Residents are encouraged to sign up for email updates — plus a Google Fiber mug.
