Grand River Mutual Taps Zhone for FTTH Project

OAKLAND, CA — Grand River Mutual Telephone Corporation, Missouri's second largest independent operator, selected Zhone equipment for its new fiber-to-the-home network.

The point-to-point active Ethernet network, managed through Zhone's MXK platform, will give Grand River Mutual Telephone residential customers access to wire-speed gigabit connectivity, enabling multiple high-definition television channels, high-definition digital video recorder content and video streaming within the home.

"With more than 15,000 access lines spanning Northern Missouri and Southern Iowa, we needed a fiber access vendor with superior scale and effective network management capabilities," says Wendel Myers, general manager of Grand River Mutual Telephone.
