Grande Continues Austin Expansion of 1 Gbps Service

  • Grande Communications
SAN MARCOS, TX — Grande Communications, the Texas-based broadband communications company offering Internet, TV and phone services, announced that it will now provide 1 Gbps Internet service to all new and existing customers in the West Campus area of Austin, Texas. The expansion into West Campus is part of Grande's long-term plan to provide faster Internet service to all Grande customers. West Campus marks the third 1 Gig expansion this year joining Buda and West Austin.

Grande was the first provider to launch 1 Gbps Internet service in Austin in February of 2014. Priced at $64.99, Grande's 1 gigabit Internet service, dubbed "Power 1000," is still Austin's most affordable 1 Gbps Internet service.

Expanding 1 Gig Service to Areas of High Demand
"Grande's plan is to expand 1 Gbps service to areas where there is clearly high demand. West Campus is adjacent to the University of Texas, so there is a high density of college students in the area. Austinites are hungry for fast speeds and we are evaluating the options to broaden our 1G coverage area in 2015," said Matt Rohre, senior vice president of operations and general manager for Grande Communications.

No Contracts or Bandwidth Usage Caps
Apart from beating major competitors to the market with 1 Gigabit speed, Grande further differentiates from the competition with some additional advantages for customers. Unlike other providers, Grande will never share customer's personal information or track online activity to sell to any company or organization. Power 1000 also offers customers the freedom of no contracts or bandwidth usage caps. And as part of a commitment to putting customers first, Grande offers a money-back guarantee during the first thirty days if a customer is unsatisfied with the service.

Using fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) technology, Power 1000 service is now available in West Campus, Buda and Austin including parts of Tarrytown, Old Enfield, Pemberton Heights, Bryker Woods, Belmont, Oakmont Heights and Rosedale.
