Green Hills Telephone Deploys FTTH With Zhone

OAKLAND, CA — Independent Missouri service provider Green Hills Telephone Corporation will deploy Zhone's MXK platform for its new active Ethernet and xDSL network.

Green Hills' subscribers, including local residences and businesses, will be able to use bandwidth of up to 1 Gbps and will have access to multiple high-definition television channels, high-definition digital video recorder content, video streaming and a host of other value-added services.

The MXK's feature set aligns well with Green Hill's specific field requirements, enabling cost efficiency and maximum service differentiation in the operator's network. Green Hills is also deploying Zhone's zNID Active Ethernet Optical Network Terminals for its endpoints.

The flexibility and scalability of the Zhone MXK and its ability to provide intelligent GPON, active Ethernet and xDSL connectivity facilitates network and service upgrades to FTTH. This helps future-proof the network for more advanced service rollouts. It also reduces recurring operating expenses and any adverse customer impact from rollout and provisioning of these next-generation services.
